Collaboration - 237 'Vital and Viable' Factors

As part of our series on vital and viable high streets, the High Streets Task Force is presenting 'evidence on a page' summaries of over 200 factors that influence the success of high streets. Here we address collaboration; various stakeholders from different sectors working together for physical, commercial and general improvement of the high street or centre.

Collaboration can lead to more successful solutions that meet the needs of the users of the high streets and centres. Collaboration across stakeholders from different sectors matter in terms of optimizing solutions, as diverse knowledge, experiences, and resources are key in overcoming the challenges the place is facing (Innes and Booher, 2010).

Collaboration is one of 237 factors that have been identified as influencing the vitality and viability of the high street.
